The study does not consider stress on knees in squat position

I am an Iranian who has not been using the squat position for many years. I trust Dr. Rad's study and accept that the bowel is evacuated better in this position, however this study does not mention the stress to knees and back in squat position.

My grand parents could no longer take the strain of sitting in squat position by the time they turned 80. There needs to be more study with European/Western people who are used to the sitting position.

Studying something from your own country and saying its right, and it has been right all along does not add anything to science. The study is biased.

Squatting and sitting
by: Anonymous

Squatting itself is not inherently stressful, as it is a natural human posture.

Agree that as people gets older, squatting may be more difficult. However, for elimination, when one takes up the squatting position when nature calls, the entire process need not take too long - for many, it could be as fast as 2-3 minutes.

Studies of European/Western people who are used to the sitting position may not be valid as they have been compelled by societal norms to sit, not squat.

The study is not biased. It is clear that squatting is the position for elimination.
